I had forgotten that the Murphy "Nutcracker" contained the so-called "Gigue" for the sailor's dance. The only other time I have seen this performed was in Robert Ray's production done for the ABS graduation performances. If I remember correctly it was a male solo [I saw Jeremy James perform it]. The only recording I have found is the complete Lanchbery "Nutcracker". He claimed it was found in a piano score of the work and was discarded at an early stage. It was recorded in his arrangement. I am presuming that is also the arrangement we hear in the Murphy version.
