February will be a big month for The Australian Ballet, with the company travelling to Brisbane to open the performance year with Graeme Murphy’s The Silver Rose. It will also be a big month on Behind Ballet, and once again we’ll be giving away a fantastic prize for the best blog comment. Up for grabs? A copy of
Lynette Wills’ Step Inside The Australian Ballet, a beautiful photography book capturing our dancers at work and play. Happy commenting!

I am really looking forward to watching Graeme Murphy’s ‘The silver Rose’ this year. Although I live in Perth I am planning a trip back to Melbourne that will coincide with the performances. Have fun in brisvegas to all the Aussie ballet.
My brother and I bought our Mum a subscription to the Australian Ballet for Christmas. I wish someone would buy me one! Their performances are just spell binding.
The book looks stunning. I would love a copy for my coffee table. Very special. I wonder why I love seing ballerinas in black? Anyway – Wish me luck! Clare
I enjoy seeing talented artists turning the spotlight onto the worlds they know so intimately. The dancers of the Australian Ballet are so beautifully photogenic – combined with Lynette Will’s artistry, “Step Inside the Australian Ballet” is guaranteed to be an enduring record of what often just lives in one’s memory.
I never believed that you are born to be a dancer, but my 8yr old daughter has proved me wrong…… Since she started talking (18mths) she has told my husband and I she is going to be a ballerina when she grows up. She is now 8yrs of age and still says the same, except that she now states she will be accepted into the Australian Ballet by her early teens. I would love to be able to give her a copy of this stunning book. I wish her all the luck in her dancing career.
I have always wanted to be a fly-on-the-wall backstage with the Australian Ballet – but a fly with a camera would be even better. Congratulations to Lynette for capturing the moments, the insights, all that we in the audience have always wanted to see.
I love the Ballet !…
Ciao from Italy
