At Behind Ballet we love comments. We LOVE comments. So we’ve decided to award a juicy ballet prize to the best reader comment on the blog every month.
This time around we’re giving away a copy of our 2010 calendar, à la mode: ballet & fashion (reckoned by The Sydney Morning Herald “the world’s most beautiful calendar … a celebration of sexy bodies and sumptuous couture”) along with a box set of postcards from Graeme Murphy’s Swan Lake. You don’t have to do anything to enter except jump onto Behind Ballet and have your say. It doesn’t matter if you’re commenting on an old or a new post, we’d love to hear from you. We’ll select the best for December just before Christmas and contact the lucky winner. Happy posting!

I may not do ballet anymore, but I would love to have an aussie ballet calander to dream and look at on my wall!!! xoxoxox
Australian Ballet is my insperation! I want to be like them! They are fantastic. The girls are so pretty and the boys are so strong. They are all my role models.! xxxxxxxxx
Love you girls and guys and choreographers! at the Australian Ballet! xxxxx
from lady gaga to metallics!
keep the crazy stuff coming!
the utter beauty and skill of the Australian Ballet blows me away – love escaping from the ‘stuff’ that makes up my days and daydreaming I’m dancing as brilliantly as they do, while in my gold leotard, strategically draped over a hot ballet man
As I sit here, sewing ribbons onto my new pointe shoes, I am utterly inspired. Behind Ballet brings all my loves into one place; fashion, ballet, art…the list goes on! When I first heard about the new calendar I was ecstatic because I always love the new calendars, but this one seemed especially beautiful! Everytime I would look at it it would remind me to keep dancing and would continue to inspire me!
In regard to ballet and fashion, I believe some fashion commentators noted that this season’s collections were quite ballet-influenced in style. And though “ballet-inspired” may be noted as a “trend” this year, I actually think it’s anything but — to me ballet style is timeless, as it represents beauty, grace and versatility (among other things; it’s personal to everyone)!
The beautiful photography and behind the scenes posts on the “Behind Ballet” blog really make me feel involved in the Australian Ballet, even though I may not see many shows. Now I am dying to watch a ballet – Graeme Murphy’s “Swan Lake” looks exceptionally beautiful, I love the simplicity of their “swan” tutus.
The skill, along with the elegance and grace of the Australian Ballet dancers is just awe-inspiring.
Along with the Australian Ballet website, “Behind Ballet” means I can get a ballet fix anytime I want.

My 7 year old daughter has just finished the Australian Ballet School’s Summer School for 2010. She was so excited to be dancing with the “big girls” every day and to take part in the life of a ballerina, if ever so briefly. Just to enter the Australian Ballet Centre was a thrill for her as well. Two of her favourite ballets are to be staged this year – “Coppelia” and “The Nutcracker”, and she is hoping that this year she will be able to stay awake for the entire performances! See you at the Ballet!
